Lillies, again

The beautiful lillies are blooming again.  They are mournful, happy, vibrant, and loaded subjects.  There is no mistaking a lily.  Long ago the child's story "Where the Lillies Bloom" made an impression on me, swirled with Easter lilies.

Near Fern Grotto, Wilder Ranch

Hiking around Wilder Ranch today enjoying the break from rain, I came across a rock formation realizing I had painted it 4 years earlier:








And here is the oil painting:




It is recognizable by the horizontal line near the water which a wave is covering partially.  Most of the rest shows more interesting lighting and calmer surf than what was there today.  Enjoy!

The snow up in Lake Tahoe should inspire a plein air trip.
